Drug Class: Combination of a prostaglandin analogue (bluprost, a form of latanoprost or similar compound) and a beta-adrenergic blocker (timolol).
Mechanism of Action: The prostaglandin analogue increases the outflow of aqueous humor from the eye, helping to reduce intraocular pressure. Timolol reduces the production of aqueous humor by blocking beta receptors in the eye. Together, these actions help lower eye pressure more effectively than either agent alone.
Common Forms: Ophthalmic solution in a dropper bottle.
