Canalex Cream containing Clotrimazole 1% is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the skin. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and yeast infections affecting the skin.
Clotrimazole belongs to a class of drugs called azole antifungals. It works by inhibiting the growth of fungi by interfering with the formation of the fungal cell membrane, thereby preventing the fungi from growing and spreading.
The cream is applied topically to the affected area of the skin, usually two to three times daily. The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the infection, but treatment often continues for several weeks to ensure the infection is fully eradicated.
