Clarinase Tabs 14’s is a combination medication used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and the common cold, including nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, itching, and watery eyes. Each tablet contains 5 mg of loratadine, an antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms, and 120 mg of pseudoephedrine sulfate, a decongestant that alleviates nasal congestion.
The recommended dosage for adults and children aged 12 years and over is one tablet twice daily, taken with a glass of water. Treatment should be limited to about 10 days, as prolonged use may diminish the effectiveness of pseudoephedrine. If symptoms persist beyond this period, consult a healthcare professional.
Common side effects may include insomnia and dry mouth. Clarinase is contraindicated in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) therapy or within 14 days of discontinuing such treatment, as well as in individuals with narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, or hyperthyroidism. Patients should be informed to discontinue use if they experience hypertension, tachycardia, palpitations, cardiac arrhythmias, nausea, or any other neurological signs such as headache or increased headache.
Clarinase Tabs 14’s is available in a pack of 14 tablets.
