Clavumed 625 mg tablets are an antibiotic containing the active ingredients amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by preventing bacteria from forming their cell walls, which leads to the destruction of the bacteria. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances the effectiveness of amoxicillin by blocking enzymes produced by bacteria that would otherwise make the antibiotic ineffective.
