Combantrin Tablets 125 mg contain the active ingredient Pyrantel, an anthelmintic medicine used to treat intestinal worm infections. Pyrantel works by paralyzing the muscles of the worms, which allows them to be easily expelled from the intestines through normal bowel movements.
The tablets are mainly used for the treatment of infections caused by roundworms, including threadworms (pinworms), hookworms, and roundworms.
Combantrin is available in tablet form, typically supplied in packs containing 6 tablets of 125 mg each.
The dosage depends on body weight and the type of infection. For children, a single dose is usually recommended, commonly 10 mg of pyrantel per kilogram of body weight, with a maximum of 1 tablet (125 mg) per dose. Adults usually take 1 to 2 tablets.
