Doxycycline 100 mg is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It belongs to the tetracycline class of antibiotics and works by stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria in the body. The active ingredient, Doxycycline, interferes with bacterial protein synthesis, helping the immune system eliminate the infection.
Doxycycline 100 mg is commonly prescribed for the treatment of: Respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), Skin and soft tissue infections, Urinary tract infections (UTIs), Sexually transmitted infections including chlamydia, Acne and other skin infections, Eye infections, and certain tropical infections such as cholera and malaria prophylaxis.
The capsules are taken orally, usually with a full glass of water, and may be taken with food to reduce stomach irritation. Patients should remain upright for at least 30 minutes after taking the capsule to prevent throat or esophageal irritation.

Some patients may experience mild side effects such as: Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea, Loss of appetite, Skin sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity), and stomach discomfort.

Do not use if you are allergic to tetracycline antibiotics.
