Kwik Action is an over-the-counter medication used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold and flu, such as headache, fever, body aches, and nasal congestion.
**Primary Medical Uses:**
– Alleviation of headache, fever, body aches, and nasal congestion.
– Management of cold-like symptoms.
**Drug Class or Type:**
– Combination analgesic, decongestant, antihistamine, and central nervous system (CNS) stimulant.
**General Mechanism of Action:**
– Paracetamol (acetaminophen) acts as a pain reliever and fever reducer.
– Caffeine serves as a CNS stimulant, enhancing the analgesic effect.
– Cetirizine is an antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms.
– Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that relieves nasal congestion.
**Common Forms:**
– Oral tablets, typically containing 325 mg of paracetamol, 25 mg of caffeine, 5 mg of cetirizine, and 5 mg of phenylephrine.
**Dosage Instructions:**
– Adults and children aged 12 and over: One tablet every 4–6 hours as needed.
– Do not exceed four tablets in 24 hours.
– For neonatal use (for apnea): under strict medical guidance—single daily dose.

– **Common Side Effects:** Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, restlessness, insomnia, palpitations, dizziness, dry mouth, and fatigue.
