Paracetamol IV 1G HABIMOL/PARAMOON/THERMODOL is an intravenous formulation of paracetamol with 1 gram of active ingredient per dose.
Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.
It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the central nervous system, which helps alleviate pain and lower fever.
This intravenous form is administered directly into a vein, providing rapid therapeutic effects and is used when oral or rectal routes are unsuitable or when quick pain or fever control is needed.
The usual adult dose is 1 gram every 6 hours as required, with a maximum of 4 grams per day, following medical advice.
Side effects are uncommon but may include allergic reactions, redness or irritation at the injection site, and, rarely, liver damage if used excessively or in patients with liver impairment. Monitoring liver function is advisable in prolonged use or at high doses.
