Description
Pariet Tablet 20mg contains rabeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid production. It is primarily prescribed for conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with antibiotics.
Rabeprazole works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach lining responsible for acid secretion, thereby decreasing gastric acid levels and allowing healing of ulcers and inflammation.
The tablets are oral and usually taken once daily, preferably before a meal. The typical dose for adults is 20 mg once daily, but the dosage may be adjusted by a healthcare provider based on the condition being treated.
