ZYFEN SYR is an oral suspension containing fexofenadine hydrochloride, an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itchy throat or nose. It is also effective in treating chronic idiopathic urticaria, providing relief from itching and hives.
Fexofenadine works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.
The medication is available in liquid form, typically in 150 ml bottles.
Dosage instructions vary based on age and the condition being treated. For adults and children 12 years and older, the usual dose is 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once daily. For children aged 6 to 11 years, the recommended dose is 30 mg twice daily.
