Description
Atenova 50mg tablets contain atenolol, a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), chest pain (angina), and certain heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). Atenolol is a beta-blocker that works by slowing down the heart rate and reducing the force of the heart’s contractions, leading to lower blood pressure and decreased heart workload.
The tablets are taken orally, usually once daily, with or without food. Common side effects may include fatigue, dizziness, cold extremities, and slow heart rate. Serious but rare side effects can include severe allergic reactions, breathing difficulties, and significant changes in heart rhythm.
Atenova 50mg tablets are contraindicated in individuals with severe bradycardia (slow heart rate), certain heart conduction disorders, and known hypersensitivity to atenolol. Caution is advised in patients with asthma, diabetes, or peripheral arterial disease.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is recommended during treatment. Tablets should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
