Zirtek Allergy Relief Tablets 10 mg contain cetirizine, an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itching caused by hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies. It is also used to treat itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives).
Cetirizine belongs to the class of second-generation antihistamines, which work by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. It is less likely to cause drowsiness compared to first-generation antihistamines.
