VANCOMYCIN CAPSULES 250 MG
Drug Class:
Glycopeptide antibiotic.
Primary Medical Uses:
Used for the treatment of serious bacterial infections, particularly infections caused by Gram-positive organisms. Oral capsules are mainly used for Clostridioides difficile (C. diff)–associated diarrhea and colitis.
Mechanism of Action:
Vancomycin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of susceptible bacteria.
